- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I received a quote from Edison Insurance and purchased a policy from them pending an inspection of my home. I was told that several roof shingles needed to be replaced or the policy would be cancelled. Huh? No problem. I hired a local roofing company to make any repairs they deemed necessary. $700 later I am informed by Edison that unless I replace the ENTIRE roof, they are going to cancel my policy. It seems to me that they are in the business of CANCELLING insurance policies because any communication with them includes a threat of policy cancellation, even when you follow their instructions. The local roofing company stood by their services and issued me a letter stating that my roof would last at least three more years, but Edison Insurance cancelled my policy because I refused to throw away a $700 repair by replacing a roof after they originally said it only needed a repair. I'm probably better off. I'm sure the next letter would have stated that unless I have my entire house rebuilt my policy would be cancelled.February 01, 2017by Rick Starr
